Pixar will finally see a return . to theatres with . its latest movie, “Lightyear”, debuting across the globe beginning June 17, 2022.

We’ll cut right to the chase here as Disney hasn’t officially confirmed a release date for when Lightyear will be available on digital platforms such as iTunes, Amazon, Google Play etc.
Ultimately, the success of ticket sales will depend on how quickly Lightyear arrives digitally. The theatrical window is extended to maximum box office sales when a movie is doing well. Once a film has peaked at the box office, Disney will begin to get ready to release it digitally to get the next wave of sales. This is unpredictable, but we can make an educated guess based on previous releases.
It’s taken around 70 days from theatrical release to digital platforms for previous Disney movies in the last year or so. However, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was especially short as the movie was released digitally after just 47 days.
We expect Lightyear to arrive on digital platforms in late July or early August, about 45 to . 50 days after its theatrical release.
