Eight-time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez completed 39 laps in the first MotoGP test session at the Misano Circuit, San Marino, Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
Marquez rides a standard RC213V motorbike, similar to the one he last rode at the Italian GP. It didn't take long for the racer with starting number #93 to start testing Honda Racing Corp's new parts. He quickly adapted and performed quickly as before the injury.
Marquez's return is in the spotlight, not only in the Repsol Honda team's paddock , but also MotoGP as a whole.
The rider, who is riding a MotoGP bike for the first time after being sidelined due to recovering from surgery on his right arm, recorded his 17th best time.
The Spaniard proved to be still competitive, only 0.864 seconds adrift of the fastest racer, Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) with a time of 1 minute 31.531 seconds.
Marquez will still take part in FP2 on the first day and two more practice sessions on the second day, Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
